TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – Elena Pirozhkova is back in the finals of the World Championships for the third time.

Pirozhkova navigated her way through a brutal bottom half of the bracket at 63 kg/138.75 lbs. to land a spot in the gold-medal bout in women’s freestyle on Friday at the Gymnastics Palace.

Pirozkhova won four straight bouts in the first session, defeating two wrestlers she was winless against before earning a 3-0 semifinal win over two-time World bronze medalist Monika Michalik of Poland. Continue reading at www.teamusa.org
