Laurent Blanc speaks on Bruno Cheyrou “problems”

Speaking in a press conference before Lyon’s home match against Clermont on New Year’s day, manager Laurent Blanc was asked about his relationship with Lyon recruitment head Bruno Cheyrou, ahead of a January transfer window where Blanc is hoping for extra-recruits. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport.

The former France & PSG manager said “I heard the press say that we don’t agree with Bruno Cheyrou” before tentatively addressing the subject with “there can be problems, I’m not saying there aren’t any at all”. He then accuses the press of “making issues where there aren’t any”.

Blanc then speaks about the general relationship with Cheyrou, saying that “We’re pretty unanimous on decisions, and on positions and zones that players play in” before carefully clarifying that “after that it is a job, it can be delicate.”

The OL man then said the objective is to “rectify what has already happened at the club – it won’t be easy, but it has to be done. We all agree.”
