Matt Hardy made a surprise return to the ring this Tuesday night on Smackdown Live, teaming up with his brother, the “Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy to score a victory over Cesaro and Sheamus of The Bar.

It was quite the surprise indeed, as the formerly (possibly still?) Broken star has not been seen on WWE television since August, when the revelation that bones in his back and pelvis were beginning to fuse together due to the years of damage on his body.

Despite numerous rumors and questions about his future, Hardy maintained that he was not retired as a professional wrestler, and was looking into his options going forward. While healing up, he at one point was working backstage as a producer and learning the ropes on that end of the business.

Hardy looked to be in excellent shape during his surprise return to Smackdown Live, having seemingly trimmed down and toned up considerably during his time away from the ring. Could we see another tag team title run in Team Extreme’s future?
