More than 175 WWE Superstars, employees and crew will not make it back to the U.S. in time for this evening’s show due to complications travelling home from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia following Thursday’s Crown Jewel event, which means that much of Smackdown is now up in the air.

WWE has already promised “surprises” for the show in an official statement earlier today addressing the matter, and now an update from Dave Meltzer at F4WOnline.com has added that NXT Superstars are being flown in to Buffalo to be used on Smackdown tonight.

With this month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view being announced as tri-branded for the first time ever, it would make sense for members of the NXT roster to be involved in the lead-up to that event.
