Syrian man Hassan Al Kontar, who spent more than 6 months at Kuala Lumpur Airport has finally arrived in Canada, ending a long ordeal of finding asylum.

On Monday night, Al Kontar landed at Vancouver airport, donning flip-flops and a T-shirt. Canada had already recognised him as a refugee and as soon as he touched down in the country, he became a permanent citizen.
