Pregnant Woman Denied Treatment For Not Paying Rs 5,000 In Madhya Pradesh

Last year’s statistics portrayed in the National Health Profile Report reflected the appalling state of Indian health sector as medical equipment and doctors were far less and inadequate in number to treat a growing number of patients.

As per the report, there was only one government allopathy doctor per 11,082 population, one government hospital bed per 1,844 population and one state-run hospital for every 55,591 population.

Rising cases of negligence aren’t related to lack of seriousness or ethics alone. They paint a red picture of the fact that lack of adequate medical personnel in a country with a population of 1.3 billion stands at an alarming level.
