LFW saw increased media and buyer attendance

Harold Tillman, Chairman of the British Fashion Council, in a statement said: “this last season saw London Fashion Week do what it does best – amid tough headlines of global economic crisis our designers stood up and produced one of the strongest seasons we have seen in years. We welcomed an increase in media attendance and the world’s most highly sought-after store and boutique owners and buyers from France, Italy, Asia and the Middle East. Nowhere else can a designer attract such an influential audience, even when showing for the first time.

A new menswear showcase closed fashion week – a fitting end to an incredibly positive week for British designer fashion. A success not only in terms of extraordinary British talent showcased but also media coverage and orders written.

We are already excited to see what September has to offer and can’t wait to see you all at Somerset House.”

The spring summer 2010 show dates are yet to be announced when London Fashion Week moves from the Natural History Museum to its new Bloomsbury premises in September.
