There is no knowing the pain of someone who has lost someone close to them. And there are different ways in which people cope with that pain. A woman has been texting her father every day since he died.
23-year-old Chastity Patterson’s father died four years ago, and she has been texting his old phone number with the updates of her life ever since. When on the fourth anniversary of his death she sent a long emotional message on the number, she received a reply.
She wrote that she missed him and loved him and talked about the major moments of her life like graduating and defeating cancer.

Part of the message reads, ‘It’s been four years since I lost you and not a day goes by that I don’t miss you. I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me the most, but one day we will [sic] our chance to watch that game’!
Don’t Miss
To her astonishment there was a reply which read, ‘My name is Brad and I lost my daughter in a car wreck August 2014 and your messages have kept me alive. When you text me, I know it’s a message from God’.
The message further read, ‘I have listened to you for years and I have watched you grow more than anyone’.

Brad also wrote, ‘I have wanted to text you back for years, but I didn’t want to break your heart’.
Patterson took to Facebook to write about this and post the screenshots.
It is indeed surreal that someone was reading her messages all this while. Brad and Patterson reportedly keep in touch.
You never know how your actions might be affecting someone, so be kind. While Brad and Patterson didn’t really know each other when Brad first started receiving messages, they both helped each other sail through some of the toughest years of their lives. Had either of them chosen to be unkind, things would have turned out quite differently. Additionally, they would not have found each other, and known that they had someone to lean on.
