There’s A Demand In Parliament To Declare Wing Commander Abhinandan’s Tash As ‘National Moustache’

Ever since the incidents of February 27 involving Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the one thing that everyone took note about other than his bravery was his unique mustache.

In a matter of days, barber shops and salons across the country were flooded with people queuing up to get ‘Abhinandan Mustache’. The emotions around the entire episode were so high that some hairdressers even giving the ‘Abhinandan Mustache’ free for customers.

Speaking on the floor of the Lower House, Chowdhury said, “Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman should be awarded and his moustache should be made national moustache.”

Wing Commander Abhinandan was hailed a national hero after he heroically fought off the invading PAF jets on February 27, a day after the Balakot Air Strike.

Abhinandan who was flying a MiG-21 got into a dogfight shot down an F-16 of PAF before his own aircraft crashed in the Pakistani side. A day after his capture Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Wing Commander Abhinandan will be freed as a goodwill gesture to de-escalate the tensions between the two countries.

Wing Commander Abhinandan, who returned to India on March 1 to a hero’s welcome, has since joined back in his unit.
