People Refused To Help This Mother Get Her Encephalitis Battling Kid To Hospital, Till This Journalist Got Involved

While a television journalist is facing criticism for reporting from intensive care unit (ICU) visibly hampering the work of hospital staff, here is a story that shows an alternate way to help the cause of Encephalitis patients suffering in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur area.

The image of journalist Amir Hamza ferrying a patient is getting him all sorts of praises on the internet.

The girl had been suffering from encephalitis for the last four days and was undergoing treatment at SKMCH Muzaffarpur. When she got slightly better she was discharged from the hospital. When she reached home, her mother again noticed symptoms and returned right away to the hospital.

Patient’s mother was carrying her, hoping that she would find some help on her way. A few moments later, Amir appeared as a messiah and offered them lift.

“I was going to Mishan Pura area for some work around 3:30 pm. When I crossed Dhiran Chhapra village I saw a helpless woman carrying her frail daughter in her arms,” narrates Amir.

Don’t Miss

When I went closer I only saw people around him. They were all clueless how to help her as there was no vehicle present at that time,” he told Indiatimes.

The woman told Amir about her daughter’s health and pleaded if he could help her. Since Amir had already been reporting about encephalitis, he understood the seriousness of the situation at once. He know that either Sri Krishna Medical college or Kejriwal Hospital could admit the patient, since SKMCH was far from where they were.

Wasting no time, Amir asked the mother to be seated on the motorcycle and they left the place for hospital.

“I spoke to the doctor and stayed there till the time girl was not admitted,” said Amir, who is a crime reporter in a vernacular news channel.

Since then Amir has been praised on internet as well as getting praise calls.

This is indeed a good job by the man who put human life ahead of his work.

More than 120 kids have died so far due to encephalitis in Bihar.
