A Message For Peace – Pakistani Husband And Indian Wife Wear Combined Jerseys At World Cup Clash

In recent times the relationships between India and Pakistan has not been the greatest. After the Pulwama terror attack claimed the lives of over 40 CRPF personnel, India responded by bombing terror camps in Balakot. There were skirmishes as one of our pilots ended up captured before being returned.

In the middle of all this there were calls to boycott the match vs Pakistan at the World Cup. But after a lot of speculation, the match was on. Well, one couple decided to do something unique to promote the message of peace at the game.

The husband is from Pakistan while his wife is from India. They wore combined jerseys of the two teams as they came to watch the game at Old Trafford, Manchester.

“We’re supporting peace today. She’s from India and I’m from Pakistan. So we decided that we are going to support both the countries. We all support good cricket. Whoever plays their best game today, should win. And cricket should win today. That’s it,” the man said while speaking to the media.

Don’t Miss

This is truly a good gesture. At a time when many are calling for war, it is heartening to see that there are people on both sides of the border who want nothing but peace.
