They say, it should always be humanity above everything else, but how many of us actually practice that?
In a world where people are self centered and think about themselves first, this cab driver turned out to be a good Samaritan by returning the wallet of a passenger. Touched by the gesture of honesty displayed by the cabbie – Asif Iqbal Abdul Gaffar Pathan – the passenger, @darthsierra, took to Twitter to tell people about his good deed.
He narrated the story on a Twitter thread: He and his wife booked a cab from their residence Hiranandani, Powai in Maharashtra on June 10, 2019 in the evening, and headed to a pub as it was his birthday.
They started chatting in the cab and soon enough, reached their destination. After an hour, he realised that he didn’t have his wallet with him and freaked out. He called up the cabbie to inquire if he had left his wallet in the cab by mistake.
Don’t Miss
The cabbie, Asif, said that he had kept it safely with him and will return it while heading back home.
At around 12:30 am, Asif went to the pub to return his wallet and also wished him a happy birthday. He also told him that coincidentally it was his birthday as well, and that his family was waiting for him at home to cut the cake.
The person then shared a picture of the Asif and thanked him for his honesty.

Not too long ago, a woman named Shilpa Tandon shared a rather heartwarming incident. She wrote in a post – that went viral – how at 2:00 am she had to help a friend living in a PG, who fell sick. So, she took a cab to her friend’s place. However, the driver who dropped her, refused to leave till she safely entered the PG. That alone, was a compassionate gesture, but to add to that, he even refused to take extra cash for waiting with her.
Incidents like these make us believe that even though the world might seem like a cruel, evil place, there are people who still hold human values above money and other materialistic pleasures.
