RMC Sport report that Lyon Sporting Director Juninho is continuing his hunt to bring in an experienced central defender this summer, and has made an approach for 34-year-old Uruguayan international Diego Godin.

Inter Milan are keen to offload the player, who joined recently from Atletico Madrid. He has a huge footballing experience and a notorious character.

However, the approach has little chance of success – Juninho was quickly put off by his €5.5m to €6m a year salary.

This problem explains one of the reasons why Inter Milan are trying to offload him – unless he makes a considerable salary effort, a deal has no chance of success.
