L’Équipe report this afternoon that Rennes are in talks to sign Freiburg midfielder Baptiste Santamaria, and are said to have submitted a €14m offer for the 26-year-old.

The former Angers man, who joined the German club last summer, is interested in joining Rennes and is said to have agreed on the outlines of a contract with with the Brittany club.

Before his time in the Bundesliga, Santamaria had spent four seasons with Angers, having joined in 2016 from Tours, where he came through at the youth academy.
