David Moyes is blocking Issa Diop’s €20m move to Fulham

As reported by L’Equipe, despite an agreement with newly promoted Premier League club Fulham, West Ham United are blocking the transfer of French defender Issa Diop.

The hesitation over the move comes from Hammers manager David Moyes, who has, for now, decided to keep hold of the former Toulouse captain despite a agreement over a €20m sale being in place for 10 days. Moyes, however, has yet to green light the player’s sale.

With the club’s new signing from Rennes, fellow centre-back Nayef Aguerd, expected to be out injured for two months with an ankle issue – regardless of Moyes making Diop his fifth choice centre-back this season – Moyes wants to keep the 25-year-old as cover this campaign.

However, with one year left on his deal at the London club, Diop is still interested in a move this off-season with Lyon also holding talks with the player earlier in the year following West Ham’s Europa League quarter-final defeat of OL.
