GORDON D’ARCY WILL sit out Leinster’s Pro12 trip to Edinburgh this Saturday as his wife, Aoife Cogan, is due to give birth to their first child.

And with the veteran centre hoping to be called up for international duty during the World Cup this September, he may well have already played his last game for Leinster.

The 81-cap international last month announced his intention to retire after the upcoming World Cup. Supporters at Leinster’s home win over Treviso on Friday were afforded the opportunity to bid farewell to the Wexford native after 261 appearances for the eastern province.

Winger Darragh Fanning has also been added to the list of Leinster’s injury absentees. The St Mary’s man suffered a wrist injury and will require six weeks to recover before beginning pre-season training for next term.

Cian Healy meanwhile, continues to report no ill effects after his neck surgery and is scheduled to begin rehabilitation in ‘two to three weeks’.
