Actor Sylvester Stallone has posted the following on Instagram, teasing WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar possibly joining the “Rocky” movie franchise.

In an update to this original post, Stallone has since made his big announcement, and oddly it has nothing to do with Brock Lesnar. Stallone announced he will be stepping down as director of “Creed 2”, and replacing him will be Stephen Caples, Jr.

“Creed 2” picks up where “Creed” left off, and will center around Adonis Creed fighting Victor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago, the man who killed Creed’s father in “Rocky IV”. The film is set to begin filming in February in Philadelphia.

Speculation was that Brock Lesnar might be in talks to play the role of Victor, however that remains unconfirmed at this time as Stallone’s announcement today made no mention of Lesnar. PWInsider.com is reporting the movie producers have been reading actors with legitimate MMA experience, which would make Lesnar an ideal candidate for the role.
