WWE filed a trademark for “Queens Crown Tournament” on August 27. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast reported this July that WWE was planning to hold a Queen of the Ring tournament later this year.

Zarian reported that WWE would be holding both King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, with them set to begin in October and conclude when WWE returns to Saudi Arabia later that month.

WWE has announced that Crown Jewel 2021 will be taking place in Saudi Arabia this October. The show is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 21.

Crown Jewel will be the first time WWE has been to Saudi Arabia since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Super ShowDown was held in Saudi Arabia in February 2020.

WWE’s 10-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority began with the Greatest Royal Rumble taking place in April 2018. After women were barred from wrestling at WWE’s first three events in Saudi Arabia, Natalya vs. Lacey Evans took place at Crown Jewel 2019.
