In other Impact news, the latest on Pentagon and Rey Fenix heading to WWE appears as if the two are not headed to the company anytime soon, according to The Wrestling Observer.

Both Pentagon and Fenix compete for various promotions, including PCW Ultra, where Pentagon is the current Champion, Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground, and it is Lucha Underground that will ultimately delay the two stars from signing with WWE anytime soon.

Rumors of Penta and Fenix to WWE began to flare up again when MLW issued a Tweet last week teasing what would be “NXT” for the two in 2019, but according to The Observer, this was a case of MLW running an “insider” angle based on a bit of reality. At the last set of MLW TV tapings, an angle was done in which Salina de la Renta, the estranged manager of Penta and Fenix, said she had been in talks with “Hunter” all week about the two stars signing with NXT, and that she was going to enroll them in English classes, have them change their names and tone down their offense, and sign with WWE. This was clearly MLW mocking how WWE tends to treat independent talents that sign with NXT, and when Konnan pleaded with Penta and Fenix not to go to WWE, the two tore up the “contracts” de la Renta had while the crowd chanted “f**k Hunter”.

Additionally, Penta and Fenix will remain under contract with Lucha Underground until a few months after the current season is finished airing, and after that, they will likely be free and clear to sign with whichever promotion they want.
