Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre & Several More Unadvertised Names in Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel

When WWE first came to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this past April’s massive Greatest Royal Rumble event they brought with them dozens and dozens of superstars from all across their roster, including several names from NXT and a few that hadn’t even debuted on television yet.

Due to the much-hyped WWE World Cup tournament taking place at this Friday’s highly controversial WWE Crown Jewel Event, the necessary roster that made the trip overseas is much, much smaller. However, acording to multiple sources including PWInsider.com, there are several names from both Raw and Smackdown that did accompany the cast and crew to Saudi Arabia this week.

United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura made the trip from the blue brand, as did the “Bulgarian Brute” Rusev. Neither are scheduled for action, but it’s possible depending on how the card is timed out that they could add an impromptu title bout into the mix.

From the Raw side of things, both Drew McIntyre and Lio Rush are with the crew this week. Rush is more than likely there to manage Bobby Lashley in his World Cup match, and the same could be true for McIntyre, who is partnered with Dolph Ziggler. He also promised to “keep an eye” on the main event Universal Championship match, so really, anything is possible.

From the production side, John Gaburick is said to have been in Saudi Arabia for an entire month to get things ready for this Friday’s show. Michael Hayes and Adam Pearce will produce the show backstage, Greg Hamilton will do all the ring announcing.

Byron Saxton is also with the broadcast team in some capacity. It’s possible they could alternate between Byron and Renee Young for Smackdown and Raw matches, respectively, or they could be running a four-man announce team. One of them could also be responsible for backstage interviews.
