Intensity. Integrity. Intelligence.
As announced, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle took some time this Monday night to address his future in professional wrestling. The 50-year-old living legend waxed nostalgic about headlining WrestleMania with Shawn Michaels, soiling the ring with milk, and of course, winning a gold medal with “a broken freaking neck”.
Angle stated that his last few matches have resulted in defeat and depression, in particular when it comes to his recent bouts against Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre. He claimed there was one opponent who he now understands he cannot defeat — Father Time.
Before the Olympic Hero could officially announce the inevitable, he was interrupted by the aforementioned Corbin and McIntyre, who verbally harassed and humiliated Angle before threatening to retire him, once and for all. However, after being brutally assaulted last week, a very angry Braun Strowman hit the ring, and the two unlikely allies were able to chase off their invaders.
At this point, nothing has been announced. It would appear that Strowman and Angle will team up to face McIntyre and Corbin at the upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, after which point they may proceed with the story of Angle retiring from professional wrestling.
