— Triple H came out with the NXT Championship and said that originally he was going to come out and announce that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will settle their rivalry at TakeOver, but that can’t happen anymore. Gargano will still get his chance to compete for the title, and will face the winner of a Fatal 5-Way match tonight between Ricochet, Adam Cole, Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream and Matt Riddle. To make sure the winner really deserves to be NXT Champion, the match at Takeover will be a Two Out of Three Falls match.

— Adam Cole def. Ricochet, Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream and Matt Riddle in a Fatal 5-Way match to qualify for the main event of NXT Takeover: New York.

— The Forgotten Sons came out and attacked Aleister Black and Ricochet after the match.

— Punishment Martinez def. Riddick Moss

— Humberto Carrillo def. Albert Hardie Jr. (fka ACH)

— The War Raiderse def. Adrian Joude & Cezar Bonini after requesting ANOTHER match to send a message to the rest of the NXT tag team division

— Jaxon Ryder def. Oney Lorcan

— Kairi Sane vs. Bianca Belair ends in a No Contest when the Four Horsewomen run out and attack both women. Io Shirai ran out to make the save followed by the women’s roster and a bunch of officials. Io took EVERYONE out with a moonsault to the floor and posed with the title.
