All Elite Wresting star (and Executive Vice President) Kenny Omega had some clearly provocative remarks about the so-called “Wednesday Night Wars” during a new interview with SportsKeeda.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion claimed that AEW was “in a completely different kind of business” than their WWE NXT competitors, who just last night debuted their new two-hour live format on the USA Network.

“I’m going to war with these dudes that, if we were on the same show together, the same promotion…let’s pretend there were no borders. Let’s pretend there were no promotions. Let’s just pretend there’s just one big promotion. If these guys were in the same show as me, they’d be in the dark match. They’d be in the opening match of my main event match.”

NXT Superstar Dominik Dijakovic, who wrestled previously on the indies as Donovan Dijak, didn’t exactly take kindly to Omega’s shockingly blunt claims of superiority. He’ll step into the ring next week to face an old rival, Keith Lee, in a rematch of one of the most hotly talked about independent feuds of the last few years.
