— The Poughkeepsie Journal has an article on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and he offers his comments on missing Ric Flair’s retirement weekend. “That was the saddest time in my career,” Piper told the newspaper. “The greatest wrestler in the world and I wasn’t there for him. You’ve got to give me more than two days notice. You can’t call me every fourth month and expect me to be there.” WWE invited him, but it was on two days notice when he was busy filming Clear Lake in Winnipeg and was unable to accept the company’s invitation.
