Jerry Lawler, who is currently under an indefinite suspension from WWE following his arrest after what has been described as a “disturbingly violent” domestic violence incident between himself and his 27-year-old fiancee Lauryn McBride, spoke with local Memphis, Tennessee outlet WMC-TV from jail.
According to Lawler, the version of the story that claims he pushed her against a stove and struck her in the head is simply not true.
“No, not at all,” Lawler said regarding that version of the story, as he blamed the incident on McBride being intoxicated. “We’ve only had issues when she drinks,” Lawler said. “Unfortunately, she had an issue last week.” Lawler claimed that McBride was intoxicated last week and “got into a fist fight with her aunt.”
