Thousands of people rallied and about 200 were arrested outside the Capitol Building in Washington, DC on Tuesday, demanding meaningful and immediate legislative action to correct the abysmal treatment of immigrants in the U.S. and the continued stalemate that meets the issue in Congress.
Among those arrested were 8 members of Congress, all Democrats, who joined immigrant rights advocates, labor activists, and community members who held signs at the rally that said “Unite” and “Keep families together — immigration reform now.”
