Update on Adam Cole in WWE, & Ricochet Teases Future WWE Signing

When top Ring of Honor star Adam Cole decided to leave the company earlier this year, it was almost guaranteed that he would be signing with WWE. Cole was a top star in Ring of Honor for several years and managed to win the ROH World Championship on three different occasions. He was kicked out the Bullet Club earlier this year and he announced that he had left the company not long after that. Multiple sources have reported that Cole’s arrival in WWE is imminent and that it should be happening very soon. Once again, it seems that Adam Cole will indeed be signing with the company and he is going to be making his WWE debut in just a matter of time.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter shed more light on the current status of Adam Cole. While the new report again confirms that Cole is “on his way” to WWE, some other news came out regarding why he still hasn’t been signed yet. Stillrealtous.com reported that, earlier this year, WWE reached out to current IWGP Tag Team Champions War Machine with a contract offer. Upon hearing this news, ROH threatened to pursue legal action against WWE for potential contract tampering. It’s said that Adam Cole likely would’ve already made his WWE debut had that not happened. The issue is reportedly resolved now, and Cole will be joining fellow former ROH stars Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish in the NXT soon.
A huge name on the independent circuit also teased possibly signing with WWE soon. Lucha Underground and NJPW’s Ricochet tweeted out a photo of himself and Triple H from several years ago, and he wished the head of NXT a happy birthday yesterday. The tweet also included the question “See ya soon!?” Ricochet has been barred from exclusively signing with any promotion until the current season of Lucha Underground ends and he has served a 90-day no-compete clause afterwards. With his future opening soon, and his girlfriend Tessa Blanchard working the Mae Young Classic, it’s possible that he could sign with WWE. Ricochet has stated in interviews that he would not want to be brought in just as a cruiserweight on 205 Live.
