MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota State wrestling is rated 10th in the first super region three rankings. MSU gathered 14 points and has three wrestlers ranked individually.
MSU has a 2-4 record with a 2-0 NSIC record. Eight NSIC schools are ranked including: #2 St. Cloud State, #4 Upper Iowa, #7 Augustana, #8 Southwest Minnesota State, #10 Minnesota State, #13 University of Mary, #15 Minot State and #16 MSU Moorhead.
Alphonso Vruno (So., 141 lbs.) placed fourth to gather seven points. Vruno has a 13-10 record on the season. Darick Vancura (Fr., 174 lbs.) also placed fourth to earn seven points for the Mavericks. Vancura leads MSU with 23 wins compared to seven losses. Adam Cooling (Fr., 157 lbs.) earned a seventh place spot as well.
MSU returns to Taylor Center Thursday to host MSU Moorhead at 7 p.m.
