Shane McMahon’s WrestleMania Role, New Tryout, Elias on Freedom

Ever since Shane McMahon returned to WWE, he has been involved in high-profile matches during WWE’s biggest pay-per-views of the year. He has faced the likes of The Undertaker and AJ Styles at WrestleMania since coming back, and it sounds as though Shane will be involved in this year’s WrestleMania event as well. Cageside Seats has reported that Shane is currently booked for a major match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans this April. There is currently no word on what match McMahon will be involved in, or who his opponents will be, but it is expected to tie into his current rivalry against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
With independent wrestling talent and athletes from other backgrounds constantly looking to make a name for themselves, WWE is constantly looking for new stars to hire. It has been reported that WWE will be hosting a tryout match for a former Lingerie Football League Player. According to Squared Circle Sirens, Susan Cashdollar will be attending WWE’s round of tryout matches at the Performance Center next month. Cashdollar also tried out for WWE back in June of 2014, a round of tryouts that also featured Smackdown’s Liv Morgan, NXT’s Aliyah, and former NXT talent Zahra Schreiber. Perhaps Cashdollar will score her dream job next month.
After spending years in NXT, “The Drifter” Elias was called up to the main roster in 2017, and he is currently in the midst of a decent mid-card run on Raw. Elias recently discussed his time on the main roster and his character with Steve Austin on the Steve Austin Show podcast. Elias says that he has a ton of freedom when it comes to his “Drifter” character on Raw. “I have no complaints. As far as Monday Night Raw goes, I am given an incredible amount of freedom with who I am, what I do with the ring, what i do with the guitar, what I say in my promos and I know i don’t take that for granted one second.” Elias said. He also discussed working matches against the likes of Roman Reigns and the differences between doing his character on TV, on live events, and on NXT.
