Bray Wyatt is on the shelf with a couple of injuries that he recently received during a car accident that he was involved in last weekend. Wyatt has not appeared for WWE at all this week, and the current Raw Tag Team Champion has been cited as carelessly driving and causing a head-on collision. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Wyatt’s possible in-ring return date. Meltzer noted that Wyatt will be meeting with doctors this Friday, and that WWE officials are hopeful to have him back on Raw as early as this upcoming Monday night. While Wyatt’s exact return date may change, WWE fully expects Wyatt to be healthy enough to compete at Extreme Rules on July 15th.
The United Kingdom Championship Tournament saw General Manager Johnny Saint officially announce the launch of the new NXT UK brand. A couple of new details regarding the contracts of the new members of the WWE UK roster were just revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The report claims that WWE heavily focused on signing talent away from the relaunched World of Sport show, and the likes of Dave Mastiff, Kenny Williams, and Joe Coffey walked away from World of Sport to join WWE. Meanwhile, El Ligero, Zack Gibson, and Ashton Smith were also in talks with ITV to join World of Sport before coming to WWE. IT was also noted that the contracts for WWE UK talents reportedly pay about 31,600 American dollars, which is up from the reported $20,000 contract that were offered to UK talents last year.
There was a time when Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension were the top tag team in NXT. The two of them had a stranglehold on the NXT Tag Team Championships and were undefeated in matches for months. Konnor and Viktor have not had as much success on WWE’s main roster. In fact, the two of them had been on a two-year losing streak. However, the steak officially came to an end earlier this week when The Ascension defeated the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno on an episode of Main Event. A user on Reddit is responsible for pointing out that the streak was over after they won the match. Prior to their tag team victory, The Ascension had lost every match they were involved in since February 8th, 2016.
