Bosch Ranked 6th in Nation at 133 Pounds; Several Dragons Ranked in Super Region 3

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead sophomore wrestler Blake Bosch is ranked sixth in the nation at 133 pounds according to rankings released on Wednesday by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.

Bosch is the highest-ranked Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestler in that division. he is ranked ahead of Mike Rhone of St. Cloud State, who is seventh. The Wishek, N.D., native has an 11-5 record after recording a pin in the Dragons’ dual against Minnesota State on Jan. 10.

He is also ranked second in the Super Region 3 rankings behind Ouachita Baptist’s Nate Rodriguez.

MSUM has several wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in their weight classes regionally in addition to Bosch. Sophomore Isaac Novacek is sixth at 149 pounds with a 6-5 record; senior Michael Joseph is eighth at 174 pounds with a 7-6 record; sophomore Shane Novak is eighth at 125 pounds with a 4-2 record; senior Shawn Porter is 10th at 184 pounds with an 8-6 record; and senior Phiippe Walker is 10th at 141 pounds with a 6-6 record.

The Dragons are back in action on Friday when they host St. John’s for a 7 p.m. nonconference dual.
