Enzo Amore had been positioned as the top star on the 205 Live roster and as the Cruiserweight Champion only a few short months ago. After the controversial star was released from the company earlier this year, Amore announced that he had plans to pursue a career as a rapper. He continued to appear on a few independent shows, and although some fans were hopeful that Enzo and Big Cass would reunite on the indies soon, Amore has just announced his retirement from wrestling. Enzo told TMZ Sports earlier this week that he would not step back in the ring in “a million years,” and that he is currently working on a huge rap album for himself at the moment. Enzo began his wrestling career in 2012 and continued to compete up until recently.
WWE celebrated a huge milestone earlier this year when Monday Night Raw celebrated its 25th anniversary, but some fans may have forgotten that SmackDown is coming up on a major achievement soon as well. WWE has just announced details for the upcoming 1000th episode of SmackDown. The Capital One Arena in Washington, DC will be hosting the show on October 16th and it will air live on the USA Network in the normal 8pm ET slot. The company is promising that it will be a historic episode of the series and that is is definitely not one to be missed. SmackDown premiered on April 29th, 1999 and will be moving to Fox next year as part of a multi-year deal that is said to be worth billions of dollars. WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon also says that “the best is yet to come for SmackDown.”

WWE will be returning to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for SummerSlam weekend with the titular pay-per-view, NXT Takeover, Raw, and SmackDown all set to take place in the building over the next week. This will be the fourth year in a row that the SummerSlam events will take place in the Brooklyn venue, and a new report from WrestleVotes seems to indicate that WWE may not be coming back for SummerSlam again next August. Instead, the company is said to be looking at other cities to host SummerSlam instead, and an official announcement concerning next year’s location is expected to be made in just a few more days. Few details on possible locations have been revealed aside from the claim that the two favorites are “polar opposites on the map.”
