The tortuous road to impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump began five years ago at the headquarters of Britain’s Serious Fraud Office, next to Trafalgar Square.
While the White House was still only a glimmer in Mr Trump’s eye, a decision taken in London set off an improbable chain of events that led ultimately, via Ukraine and allegations against the Biden family, to a constitutional crisis in the United States.
