All Elite Wrestling has been promising to “change the world” ever since it was announced on January 1st of this year. The members of The Elite are working as Executive Vice Presidents of the new promotion, but the president of AEW will be none other than Tony Khan. Khan is the son of Shahid Khan, the billionaire owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Khan has talked about being a fan of wrestling and what he plans on doing with AEW before, but he went into more details about his plans for the future during a recent interview online. He is working hard to make sure AEW’s launch is a success For instance, unlike other promotions such as WWE, Khan told Chris Van Vilet that he does not plan on making himself an onscreen character when AEW launches.
Tony Khan also talked a bit about possible TV deals for All Elite Wrestling. The AEW President confirmed that talks are ongoing with a few networks. Khan said that now is the best possible time to be a wrestling fan and that there are far more options available for fans to watch now compared to twenty years ago. Khan also mentioned that he has laid out a five-year plan to establish AEW as a top brand in the wrestling and entertainment industry. Khan says that he also really wants wins, losses, and championship victories to be positioned as a top priority for their wrestlers. AEW’s first show, Double or Nothing, will be airing live on May 25th. Those interested in checking out the interview may do so down below:
Numerous guests have been announced for Starrcast this week, but the guest who was announced today may get some fans buzzing. It has been confirmed that former WWE star Tom Magee will be appearing at Starrcast in May. Magee had an infamous match with Bret Hart back in 1986 which WWE has decided to never release to the public. The match has still only been seen by a few people, but images of the match surfaced online earlier this year. Magee will appear on stage with Hart to talk a bit about their rare match together. Magee is one of several legends and pro wrestling stars who will be part of Starrcast this year. It all goes down during the weekend of AEW’s Double or Nothing show in Las Vegas, Nevada in May.
I’m CONVINCED that fans have been waiting for this for a long time. It finally happens at @StarrcastEvents. pic.twitter.com/XE7dD8ZcbU
