Big disappointment in pool R. Germany which was said to be one of the teams able to beat Brazil, didn’t manage to win even a set against “canarinhos” playing at the average level. From the very beginning of the game till the end Murilo and his teammates controlled the situation on the court and had no problems against the team of coach Raul Lozano. Germans were apparently stressed and didn’t manage to play their best. Even their top-star Gyorgy Grozer was not in his best shape and had to be replaced by Jochen Shops. “Canarinhos” weren’t even forced to play as they could and won this match without losing much energy before the semi-final.

No surprise in pool O and another favorite will play in semi-final. France started this championship very well but after their opposite Antonin Rouzier got injured, the team lost their impact. What is more, Earvin Ngapeth has been expelled from the squad which was announced by the coach Philippe Blain just before the game with Italy. We still don’t know exactly the reason off his decision (young player broke some discipline rules) but for sure it had some negative influence on the atmosphere in the team. Italians, supported by the thousands of their fans, didn’t play beautiful volleyball but they were effective and France managed to stop them only in the third set. Hosts of the world championship will play in semi-final with Brazil.
