Macerata and Unterhaching claimed easy victories

Generali Unterhaching was better than Euphony Asse-Lennik and after four sets enjoyed victory. Also Lube Banca Marche Macerata defeat without problems ACH Volley Ljubljana.

On Wednesday played Generali and Asse-Lennik. Unterhaching was favorite, however Euphony didn’t play badly, so spectators in Germany admired interesting, intensive show, especially in first and second set. A bit better in first set was Euphony, but later Generali showed their game level. From the third set to the end of the game German team had the game in hands. They played better in block and committed less errors. Finally, Generali won 3:1 and it was second victory of Unterhaching in this edition of Champions League.

 

Very good match played setter – Branislav Skladany, who spread attack on all players. Therefore, it was hard to find a leading player in Generali – everyone had a big contribution to the victory. The best player in Euphony was Eivo Zaravljov, who scored 24 points. However, one player had never win the match by himself…

On Thursday Macerata competed with ACH Volley Ljubljana. Champions of Italy played great match, Ljubljana only in first set tried to fight, but finally Macerata won 26:24.  In second and third set Lube Banca served perfectly and completely crashed ACH Ljubljana.

 

The key to the victory was service of Macerata. Service is very strong part of Italian team and they perfectly used this. Of course, if the team have great service, also block have easier job. Lube Banca blocked rivals 9 times, Ljubljana only 3 times.

Two players of Ljubljana deserved the award.  Mory Sidibe gained 10 points and he attacked with 67% efficiency, Andrej Flajs didn’t play from the beginning of the match, but he acquired 11 points. In Macerata as usual Zaytsev&Savani were the boss of court. Also middle blocker Alen Pajenk can include this match among good one´s.
