Sara Anzanello, a famous Italian middle-blocker, is fighting for her life in a hospital in Milan. She underwent her liver transplant on Saturday and her condition of health is described as critical.

Sara Anzanello, the World Champion in 2002, felt bed over two weeks ago. She was immediately examined in Baku but until a test in Istanbul let to detect the reason of this being. As it turned out, Anzanello suffers from a hard hepatitis (lat. hepatitis vinsolis) and a rapid surgery was necessary.

After the surgery, which was carried out on Saturday, the condition of the patient is still assessed as critical. Family of Sara Anzanello thanks for support asking for respecting their privacy.

Sara Anzanello spent the last two season in the Azeri League representing the jersey of Azerail Baku. In 2011, she won the FIVB World Cup along with her national team. Moreover, “Anza” has achieved the Championship of Italy thrice and recorded the World Champion title in 2002.
