After two sets and with 24-22 it seemed that Italy wins it without bigger difficulties, though battle wasn’t so easy. Then we had turnover and after thrilling finale of third set Dominicans won set 32-30. Similar situation repeated in next set, while italians led 21-18, they lost 4 points in a row and lost set again. In tiebreak Italians were frustrated and couldn’t win game. Another obstacle appeared in third set, while libero Monica De Gennaro got injured and was replaced by nominal outside hitter Alessia Gennari. The best scorer, opposite Valnetina Diouf wasn’t enough for enthusiastic Dominican players. Leading player was outside hitter Prisilla Rivera, well supported by second outside hitter Bethania De La Cruz. Amazing defender again was libero Brenda Castillo whose effort gave more power for their team, moreover she set many balls to her wing-spikers.

ALGERIA – TURKEY 0-3 (12-25 12-25 12-25)

Turkey even with their substitutes gave no chances for Algeria. As I expected Algeria couldn’t win single set and probably tomorrow we’ll see it again. I hope that FIVB ine nxet year will give up an idea with team from Africa, but it doesn’t work at all, like during Olympic Games or World Cup African teams give all opponents three points without tough battles. Best scorer of game was Turkish opposite Polen Uslupehlivan with 17 points.
